More About Me

I left the computer hardware industry in 2003 after a successful 11 year career selling tens of thousands of built to order computer systems to prime contractors supporting enterprise level projects and programs within federal government agencies. I also managed computer hardware contracts supporting several branches of the U.S. armed forces worldwide. Being a lifelong Washingtonian having grown up in Potomac, MD, going to college at the University of Maryland and having spent most of my adult life living and working in Northern Virginia, I have witnessed the DC Metro region evolve into one of the most prosperous and technologically advanced urban areas in the country.

With the growth and opportunities of the local residential real estate market. I felt I was ready for the challenge of branching out on my own and starting my own real estate business. Since joining RE/MAX Allegiance in 2004, I have sold over $35 million of residential real estate and have sold a number of homes over $500,000. My skills and prior experience in competing for, winning and managing multi-million contracts in the commercial and government contracting world translated perfectly to handle the responsibilities of a Realtor during residential real estate transactions where so much is on the line for my clients. In the past eight years, I have been awarded by the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors the distinguished Top Producer and Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club honors given to the top selling realtors in Northern Virginia.

I graduated from the University of Maryland in 1991 with a B.A. in History. While at Maryland, I was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and also participated in other distinguished campus groups and organizations. After graduation, I served as a congressional intern to former U.S. Congressman Wayne T. Gilchrest (1st-MD). In 1999, I helped launch a startup pet sitting company called Doggywalker.com and today it is one of the premiere pet sitting companies in Northern Virginia. I am originally from Potomac, MD and attended Thomas S. Wootton High School. I currently reside in Old Town Alexandria, where I have lived for the past 16 years, with my wife Laura.

I currently volunteer my time as a board member of the Alexandria Sportsman's Club, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 with the mission of promoting athletics and scholastic achievement among Alexandria's youth. I also serve as the alumni relations advisor to the University of Maryland Beta Theta Pi colony and I've been actively involved to help them in their efforts to regain their charter and re-establish ties with former members.

In my spare time, I like to run with the “Everyday is Wednesday Hash House Harriers” running club and in the seven years I've been "hashing," I've been able to explore remote streets and areas of neighborhoods that I wasn't all that familiar with. I continue to be impressed with the unique and interesting architecture of homes which can vary greatly throughout the city. I’ve also discovered many areas of the city which are now thriving due to gentrification and new commercial projects which are sprouting up throughout, particularly near Metro stations.
